With Christmas just around the corner and pleasant summer weather predicted, the golf course is expected to be a hive of activity.<\/p>\n
So whether it is a social game or a competition, it will be the ideal time to enjoy a hit.<\/p>\n
Competition days will be as follows: Tomorrow \u2013 stableford; Tuesday \u2013 9 holes stableford; Wednesday \u2013 stableford; Saturday (Dec 27) \u2013 stableford.<\/p>\n
The following Saturday will be monthly medals.<\/p>\n
Saturday was a versus par event with only two grades.<\/p>\n
A-grade winner was Mark Thomas +4 from runner-up Jenny Swainger +3, and B-grade winner Robin Hood +5 from runner-up Grace Tiri +4.<\/p>\n
Last Thursday there were 18 hole and 9 hole stableford events.<\/p>\n
The 18 hole winner was Pauline Davis with 38 points on countback to Marg Menadue.<\/p>\n
The 9 hole winner was Pauline Sherwin with 19 points from runner-up Judy Gatacre 17.<\/p>\n
There were some impressive scores in Wednesday\u2019s stableford event.<\/p>\n
A-grade winner was Graeme Willoughby with 38 points on countback from Gary Stephens; B-grade Ron \u2018Moot\u2019 Turner 42 points from runner-up Toby Rae 40, and C-grade Graham Flanagan 42 points from runner-up Jeff \u2018Dickie\u2019 Grant on 37.<\/p>\n
The club\u2019s 2025 annual general meeting was held last night, and will be covered in more detail in coming weeks.<\/p>\n
However, it\u2019s fair to say the club has some significant financial challenges ahead and will need the support of all members.<\/p>\n
The coming week offers the ideal chance to have a pre-Christmas gathering, and what better place than the club\u2019s Flagstick Bistro?<\/p>\n
It is open six days a week for lunch and dinner.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow it will feature \u2018Italian Night\u2019.<\/p>\n
Friday Night Fun continues tonight, with raffle tickets on sale from 6pm and draws at 7pm.<\/p>\n
Prizes will include hams, just in time for Christmas.<\/p>\n
With this being the final golf column before the festive season, best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year are extended to all members.<\/p>\n
