Directed by Levy, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/star-wars\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Star Wars<\/a> movie stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/ryan-gosling\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Gosling<\/a>, Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, and more. Production on the project began this past August.<\/p>\n<p>What is the update on Star Wars: Starfighter?<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSagEonj0mj\/?igsh=dHh1ZmM1aGh2bG9q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Instagram<\/a>, Levy announced that Star Wars: Starfighter has officially wrapped filming, meaning it will now enter the post-production phase. View the post below:<\/p>\n<p>Not much is known about the plot of Star Wars: Starfighter at this time. It is known that the film will be set after the events of 2019\u2019s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and that it will feature pretty much all new characters, though Kathleen Kennedy previously told <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/02\/kathleen-kennedy-clarifies-lucasfilm-exit-star-wars-future-1236304421\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Deadline<\/a> that some characters from the sequel saga could also return.<\/p>\n<p>The cast of the film also includes Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams.<\/p>\n<p>Levy previously said on <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/the-business\/id73330606\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Business<\/a> podcast with Kim Masters, \u201cThere is no mandate or interference [from Lucasfilm] other than the constant encouragement, \u2018Make this new.\u2019 And that\u2019s the truth. Every time I\u2019ve asked, \u2018Should I use this character that was maybe in that movie?\u2019 Every time it\u2019s, \u2018You know what? People have seen that. Do something new.\u2019\u2026So far, I\u2019ve had more freedom on this movie: it\u2019s equal to any other movie I\u2019ve made, including the original movies like Free Guy and The Adam Project, where it was based on no legacy. So, so far, it\u2019s very, very liberating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Star Wars: Starfighter will be released in United States theaters on May 28, 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving before that is The Mandalorian and Grogu, as that film is set to be released on May 22, 2026.
