All-Star first baseman\/DH\/right fielder Ryan O\u2019Hearn<\/a> will be a free agent after the season, making him an obvious trade candidate given the Orioles\u2019 struggles this year.\u00a0 MLB.com\u2019s Mark Feinsand<\/a> says Baltimore\u2019s price on O\u2019Hearn is nonetheless \u201cvery high,\u201d though that may be standard posturing with the trade deadline about two hours away.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Hearn, 32, has an excellent 134 wRC+ in 361 plate appearances this year.\u00a0 It\u2019s worth noting, however, that most of his production came in the season\u2019s first two months, as the lefty slugger has slipped to a 92 wRC+ since June.\u00a0 Also consider that O\u2019Hearn requires a platoon partner; the Orioles sit him against southpaws on a regular basis.<\/p>\n

The \u201cvery high\u201d price tag, then, feels like a bit of a stretch, but O\u2019Hearn is still a solid bat in a market light on those.\u00a0 One potential suitor is the Rangers, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network<\/a>, although Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News<\/a> doesn\u2019t see the fit. The Brewers were connected to O\u2019Hearn<\/a> two days ago.\u00a0 Feinsand notes<\/a> that the Astros were interested in O\u2019Hearn, but the Marlins\u2019 Jesus Sanchez is \u201cnow high on Houston\u2019s radar.\u201d<\/p>\n
