Ren\u00e9e Slegers has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month award after securing victories in both of our league matches in December.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wins over Liverpool and Everton saw us move up to third in the Women’s Super League table, jumping ahead of Manchester United to return to the Champions League places.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We started off the month in dramatic style with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Liverpool at Emirates Stadium thanks to a first-half stunner from Olivia Smith against her former side and an 87th-minute winner from Stina Blackstenius.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A week later, after a 1-0 win over Twente in the Women’s Champions League, we faced Everton in what was our first match at Goodison Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Katie McCabe opened the scoring with an outstanding volley, before Everton grabbed a quick equaliser. But Alessia Russo’s strike and another brilliant effort from Olivia Smith secured all three points on Merseyside.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ren\u00e9e is nominated alongside Manchester City manager Andree Jeglertz, who also guided his side to two wins in their two league games in December.\u00a0<\/p>\n
