He\u2019s produced a stunning knockout in Karate Combat<\/a> and has been on the wrong end of a trademark Mike Perry<\/a> performance in BKFC<\/a>.<\/p>\n For his next post-UFC<\/a> venture, Rockhold will face Darren Till<\/a> in a professional boxing bout at Misfits\u2019<\/a> \u2018Ring of Thrones\u2019 event on August 30.<\/p>\n Some early tension between Rockhold and Till<\/a> confirms that fans are in for an exciting clash of personalities, though the former champion was previously offered a different name.<\/p>\n Luke Rockhold\u2019s boxing debut taking place against Darren Till<\/a> makes sense many reasons, with both men being former UFC fighters who have taken different paths.<\/p>\n Importantly for Rockhold, he\u2019s confident that he has the right amount of time to prepare correctly so that he can show what he\u2019s been working on, which wouldn\u2019t have been the case with the original offer he received for a boxing match.<\/p>\n The former UFC middleweight champion told MMA Fighting in a recent interview that he could\u2019ve originally fought at a historic event last November, which Till was also scheduled to be on until the date was moved.<\/p>\n \u201cI had an opportunity to fight on the Jake Paul<\/a> [and Mike] Tyson<\/a> card. I\u2019ve been talking to Misfits about boxing, I\u2019ve always wanted to box\u2026 It was like a six week deal before the Tyson Paul fight and I just wasn\u2019t in shape, wasn\u2019t ready.\u201d<\/p>\n After a follow-up question, Rockhold revealed that the opponent he was offered was the 13-0 Viddal Riley.<\/p>\n While Riley is also a big name thanks to his social media following and friendships with the likes of KSI<\/a>, he\u2019s also a legitimate boxer who won the British cruiserweight title on the undercard of Chris Eubank Jr.\u2019s clash with Conor Benn<\/a> several months ago.<\/p>\n \u201cI was coming off like a bad back injury, but it was, I think it was a guy, a boxer, a good guy,\u201d Rockhold recalled. \u201cI think his name was Viddal Riley, something like that. He was pretty decent. For me to be like injured and not have any training camp, I\u2019m not gonna walk in there like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Luke Rockhold doesn\u2019t see the point in returning to MMA unless he\u2019s offering something big<\/p>\n Up until earlier this year, it looked like Luke Rockhold might be returning to MMA after he signed to the GFL<\/a> last November.<\/p>\n![\"Luke](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-1250793039-1024x683.jpg\")
