An overpay.  Perhaps more comes back in the deal.  But the Pirates have had Lowe on their radar a long, long time. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zgVl5lBlyv\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/zgVl5lBlyv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dan Zangrilli (@DanZangrilli) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DanZangrilli\/status\/2002062145429848267?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">December 19, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmjd4kcga000j357v2cw4ljm4@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Rosenthal says outfielder Jacob Melton and pitcher Anderson Brito would go to Tampa.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmjd4kchq000k357vj3lpytpk@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Lowe had 31 home runs last season with 83 RBI and hit .256.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmjd4kckp000l357vtcq388cn@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">The two-time, 31-year-old, All-Star has played all eight seasons in the MLB with Tampa<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmjd4kclo000m357vsoxy13ly@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Burrows went 2-4 for the Pirates last season with a .333 ERA over 23 games (19 starts.)<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmjd4kcnf000n357v9ui47ryo@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Burrows struck out 97 over 96 innings.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmjd5gvac000b357v8g0y30ob@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Reports the Pirates would also get switch-hitting outfielder Jake Mangum, who hit .296 with a .330 on-base percentage and .698 OPS in his rookie season in 2025.
