\n\tA slew of Amazon<\/a>-owned movies and series including high-profile James Bond<\/a> titles are set to stream on Netflix<\/a> as part of an unexpected deal between the two streamers.<\/p>\n

\n\tNetflix will launch Die Another Day, No Time to Die, Quantum of Solace\u00a0and\u00a0Skyfall\u00a0on January 15. It will also streamer movies including Rocky<\/a>, Creed and Legally Blonde<\/a> as well as original series including Man in the High Castle.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt comes after Hunters, the David Weil-created conspiracy drama series that ran for two seasons on Prime Video, started streaming on Netflix earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\n\tDie Another Day, No Time to Die, Quantum of Solace\u00a0and\u00a0Skyfall\u00a0will be available on Netflix across the U.S., Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Benelux, Italy, Nordics and Latin America for three months. Hunters is available in the U.S., Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Benelux, Italy, Nordics and Latin America for a year.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt marks an unexpected deal between the two rivals.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmazon insiders told Deadline that licensing the Bond catalog to Netflix is a \u201cstrategic business decision designed to broaden global reach and reengage audiences\u201d.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmazon has essentially decided that the revenue that these titles will generate is worth the trade off of helping one of its streaming rivals, a sign that the distribution market is back, at least for now. It is similar to when Warner Bros. Discovery decided to start selling HBO shows such as Insecure, Band of Brothers and Six Feet Under to Netflix in 2023 (long before the streamer struck a deal to buy the whole company).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen Amazon acquired MGM, Amazon\u2019s plan was to continue licensing MGM\u2019s iconic library to streaming and television partners around the world.\u00a0Bringing these iconic films and shows to Netflix is part of that continued strategy\u201d said Chris Ottinger, Head of Worldwide Distribution, Amazon MGM Studios. \u201cJames Bond remains one of the most enduring and influential franchises in cinematic history, and alongside other beloved titles in our library like\u00a0Hunters\u00a0among other series, this agreement reflects the continued global appetite for premium storytelling and the strong working relationship we\u2019ve built with Netflix.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPrime Video streams the James Bond films for two months each year, around October\u2019s global Bond Day through Thanksgiving.
