Sydney Thunder captain David Warner has been named to return from a side strain for Saturday\u2019s Sydney Smash against the Sixers.<\/p>\n

David Warner along with spinning all-rounder Tom Andrews are added to the Thunder\u2019s 14-player squad, with Charlie Anderson and Ollie Davies dropping out.<\/p>\n

Thunder assistant coach Shawn Bradstreet said: \u201cIt\u2019s great to have Davey Warner back. He\u2019s an inspirational leader who gets the best out of the group and the fact that he\u2019s a world class player puts us in a good position to get our first win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sam Konstas is also named despite an elbow concern last game.<\/p>\n

The Sixers made two changes to their 14-player squad with veteran Kane Richardson and young middle-order batsman Lachlan Shaw added.<\/p>\n

Riley Kingsell and Charlie Stobo were both omitted from the squad. Sean Abbott remains out with his hamstring injury too.<\/p>\n

The Brisbane Heat offered a brief note on two injuries sustained during Friday\u2019s win over Perth. The Heat press release said: \u201cCaptain Nathan McSweeney (ankle) and batter Max Bryant (shoulder) were both inconvenienced with injury during the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Game-winner Jack Wildermuth talked about his new role as an opening batsman and his recent fitness. He said: \u201cFor the Heat to give me an opportunity at the top, it means the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo finally get my opportunity, I\u2019m stoked just to be out here in front of my home crowd, and my friends and family. I actually did my hamstring twice in about six weeks during \u00a0Shield cricket, so I got a bit of an opportunity to work on my white-ball game going into the Big Bash.\u201d<\/p>\n

Veteran Stars fast bowler Peter Siddle spoke about his fitness. He said: \u201d I just love competing and I don\u2019t want to put out poor performances. I\u2019ve worked hard to prepare for this.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a bit nervous, it\u2019s been a long time since I played a proper competitive game so it was good to get it out of the way. The stuff I was doing with my strength and conditioning trainer, who works for the Vics, was very individualised stuff because I only have to train to bowl four overs.\u201d<\/p>\n
