LPGA Tour star Nelly Korda<\/a> has revealed her fianc\u00e9 is from the old school.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old two-time major winner announced her engagement to Casey Gunderson on 28 November.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said ‘yes’ to Gunderson after he got down on one knee at the beach.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pair have known each other for years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both went to the same high school and started dating after Gunderson, a former college football player, moved back to Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ahead of the PNC Championship<\/a>, Korda revealed the day before he popped the question he came round to her family’s house with fruit-filled dumplings before asking her parents Petr and Regina for their blessing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He knows what he’s doing,” Nelly told reporters ahead of the hit-and-giggle PGA Tour<\/a> event that she plays annually alongside her father.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“What’s nice about the relationship is that when I’m home, I\u2019m just Nelly,” she said. \u00a0<\/p>\n

“I’m not Nelly the golfer. I\u2019m not talking about golf when I\u2019m home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I’m just, like, listening to real world problems when I’m home. He’s honestly the best supporter too, so I’m extremely lucky.”<\/p>\n

Asked if Gunderson plays golf, Nelly joked: “No, thank God. I’ve seen his swing twice, and that’s all I needed to see.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“No, I’m kidding, he’s very athletic.”<\/p>\n

The golfer revealed it won’t be the only Korda wedding in 2026. Her younger brother Sebastian – a tennis pro like their father – will marry his long-time girlfriend Ivana Nedved.<\/p>\n

“I honestly knew since like 14 that they were going to get married,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nelly Korda’s 2026 plans<\/p>\n

Korda enjoyed a remarkably consistent 2025 season, although she did not step into the winner’s circle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was a far cry from her exploits last year, where she won seven tournaments, including one major.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said that she plans to scale back the number of tournaments she plays next season to around 18 to 20 and will not play four weeks in a row.<\/p>\n

“I’ve seen my body deteriorate over that [four-week period] and I kind of get into the zone of possibly getting injured,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“That’s the one thing that I have learned this year or throughout my career is just like, okay, where is my max, right?\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It’s okay to push it, but you want to kind of be freshest in some periods of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Like that middle part the season gets compacted with a lot of events and flying, so you really want to make sure you’re giving yourself a break, you’re fresh going into those.<\/p>\n

“I mean, golf is already tough mentally, and then flying cross country, you know, traveling by yourself, sleeping in a different bed, I’m getting to the age where I’m feeling that now.”<\/p>\n
