Addison Rae has weighed into the rumours of a feud<\/a> between Taylor Swift and Charli xcx, providing a super vague statement that might just require some Swiftie-level decoding.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

ICYMI, Taylor and Charli have been at the centre of feud rumours<\/a> since 2024, when the latter singer seemingly referenced Swift on her brat track \u201cSympathy is a knife\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taylor followed suit earlier this year with \u201cActually Romantic\u201d<\/a>, which featured on her album The Life of a Showgirl and was taken by many fans as a diss towards Charli.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Neither pop star has addressed the speculation beyond some cryptic comments<\/a>, but Addison \u2014 a friend and collaborator of Charli\u2019s \u2014 has now joined the fray.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess we\u2019ll have to see,\u201d Addison said when asked by the Los Angeles Times<\/a> whether she felt the need to pick a side in the Charli\/Taylor beef.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut there\u2019s so much more to all these things. There are people that do weird things, and I try to avoid those people,\u201d Addison said.<\/p>\n

The interviewer (thankfully) dug deeper into the \u201cweird things\u201d Addison mentioned, with the singer saying that pop star rivalries<\/a> are sometimes born behind the scenes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis can be behind the scenes as well \u2014 producers and drama in writing and ideas and back-end conversations,\u201d Addison said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The \u201cDiet Pepsi\u201d singer went on to mention a mystery songwriter she had parted ways with way back when, only to discover that the songwriter had begun working with someone else and that their music \u201csound[ed] similar\u201d to her own.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThen all of a sudden, this person had gone and worked with someone else, and things were sounding similar. The timeline of it all was very confusing and interesting,\u201d Addison recalled.<\/p>\n

For all you nosey folks (it\u2019s me, I\u2019m the nosey folks), Addison stopped short of revealing the songwriter, saying it\u2019s something she\u2019s \u201cnever talked about\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While she refused to get into the \u201cnitty-gritty\u201d deets of both that story and the rumoured Charli\/Taylor feud, Addison did address fans\u2019 obsession with pop girl rivalries more broadly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t have to be a thing, but I get it \u2014 it\u2019s entertaining. Historically, there\u2019s always been this friendly or maybe unfriendly competition between people,\u201d Addison said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s a very natural human thing to want to exceed a standard that someone else has laid out. I\u2019m not really interested in it for myself,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Addison collaborated with Charli on the remix version of her song \u201cVon dutch\u201d, while Charli joined Taylor as the opening act of her 2018 tour<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The shared history seemingly played a role in the feud that erupted this year, but without an official statement for either party, all we can run on is vague comments like Addison\u2019s.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If we\u2019re lucky, maybe they can all work it out on the remix<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
