The last strip is black and white, with a woman wearing sunglasses on her head, facing different directions. \" class=\"sc-5340b511-0 hLdNfA\"\/>Kate Tyler<\/p>\n<p>Kate Tyler said photo booths had documented her life<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">An artist with a &#8220;lifelong, nerdy obsession&#8221; with photobooths is celebrating the 100 year anniversary of their existence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Kate Tyler, who lives in Modbury, Devon, uses analogue photo booths to create her artwork.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">She said she prefers them to digital booths because &#8220;there&#8217;s something really lovely about the quality of those pictures&#8221; and getting a &#8220;long strip of four pictures&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">She has also been able to &#8220;document all the way through my life&#8221; with photos of herself and her friends she started gathering from the age of 12.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;It&#8217;s not just me, there&#8217;s a few other people who also have a love of photo booths,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Earlier this year Ms Tyler <a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cqldk777rpeo\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 iCaRzc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">set up a booth in Ashburton and 500 people came forward<\/a> to have their photo taken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Her passion also led her to take a trip to Riga in Latvia, so she could have her photo taken in the booth in the city&#8217;s bus station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Ms Tyler said her interest started as a teenager when she &#8220;had a lot of fun with friends in the booths.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;I guess when my friends were sensible and got bored of doing of doing that, I didn&#8217;t and I just carried on,&#8221; she said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">It has become harder for her as old-style booths have commonly been replaced by digital ones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;It&#8217;s much harder now living in Devon because there aren&#8217;t any analogue photo booths in Devon so I have to travel to London or Manchester &#8211; there&#8217;s only a handful left in the UK.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1766283371_678_grey-placeholder.png\" class=\"sc-5340b511-0 gUePlo hide-when-no-script\" aria-label=\"image unavailable\"\/><img decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/aec0dbb0-db40-11f0-bd60-5332627fd119.png.webp.webp\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Kate Tyler A collage of photo booth strips.
