Sir Keir Starmer<\/a>‘s government is facing pressure to extradite the controversial influencer Andrew Tate from Dubai<\/a> back to the UK so he can face multiple rape charges.<\/p>\n

The self-described misogynist is in the Gulf state for his fight in the Misfits Mania celebrity boxing match against American Chase DeMoor.<\/p>\n

He lost to DeMoor in the sixth round in the ring.<\/p>\n

Tate and his brother Tristan are facing 21 charges in the UK including rape, assault, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both brothers have denied wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

Bedfordshire Police have a European arrest warrant for the brothers – who grew up in Luton.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The force have agreed to let separate legal proceedings in Romania, where the brothers were held under house arrest until February, be completed first.<\/p>\n

On top of this, Tate is also facing civil action from four women in the UK who have accused him of rape and assault.<\/p>\n

Shadow foreign secretary Priti Patel said: ‘The Tate brothers face extremely serious charges and it is long since time they were brought to face justice in the UK’<\/p>\n

Now, the Prime Minister is facing growing pressure to use Tate’s excursion to Dubai to bring him back to the UK.<\/p>\n

Great Britain and the UAE have had an extradition treaty since 2008 but this can often be a complex process due to the countries two differing legal systems.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph<\/a>, shadow foreign secretary Priti Patel said: ‘The Tate brothers face extremely serious charges and it is long since time they were brought to face justice in the UK.<\/p>\n

‘The Prime Minister must call on the Dubai authorities to arrest them when they visit and extradite them so they the proper judicial process can take place.’<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the Labour MP Emily Darlington – who has been campaigning on behalf of Tate’s alleged victims said it was an ‘affront to justice’ that the brothers are able to roam the world freely.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After the match a battered and bruised\u00a0Tate, who was seen with a black eye, took part in a press conference where he was left licking wounds from the defeat.<\/p>\n

He said: ‘I felt like I won the first two rounds but because [DeMoor] 20 kilos heavier than me he started leaning on and sapped energy. But I didn’t quit.’\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
