The Australian Under 18s Boys have claimed silver in the Global Youth Sevens, going down to New Zealand in the final 41-10 in Auckland on Sunday.<\/p>\n
An action-packed three-day event to finish the Sevens calendar for the year came to an end with the Australian Boys side getting through the rounds undefeated before falling short at the death.<\/p>\n
The Aussies defeated Aotearoa M\u0101ori in their semi-final to advance to the decider and despite a runaway tries to Bailey Roberts-Lintmeijer and Brody Folkes in the first half, the Kiwis ran away with the game.<\/p>\n
Queensland star Treyvon Pritchard was named player of the tournament, joining teammate Max Prykiel in the team of the tournament, while the likes of Jarvis Orr and Chayse Geros were outstanding.<\/p>\n
Pritchard produced a stirring individual weekend on both sides of the ball but was ruled out of the finals due to a concussion suffered on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Australia\u2019s Under 18s Girls and Under 18s Schoolgirls sides were defeated in the quarter-finals early on the third day and ended the tournament with a match-up against each other in the runners-up final.<\/p>\n
Both sides enjoyed victories throughout the pool stages on the weekend before the going down to the NZ Cavaliers and Japan respectively in the quarters.<\/p>\n
It led to an all-Australian battle with the Under 18s Girls side coming out on top 24-12 over the Schoolgirls.<\/p>\n
