{"id":362579,"date":"2025-12-21T13:25:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-21T13:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/362579\/"},"modified":"2025-12-21T13:25:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T13:25:06","slug":"marc-marquez-paid-a-very-high-price-to-win-2025-motogp-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/362579\/","title":{"rendered":"Marc Marquez \u201cpaid a very high price\u201d to win 2025 MotoGP title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ducati\u2019s Marc Marquez says he \u201cpaid a very high price\u201d to win his seventh MotoGP world championship in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard won his first title in six years last season after winning 11 grands prix and 14 sprints on the factory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/ducati-lenovo-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ducati<\/a> to wrap up his seventh premier class crown with five rounds to spare.<\/p>\n<p>It was the culmination of a difficult five-year period for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Marquez<\/a>, which began with a serious arm injury at the 2020 Spanish Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>Going through four major operations and ending his long-standing relationship with Honda in order to be competitive again, Marquez\u2019s 2025 title holds extra significance for him.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with El Periodico, he said: \u201cThis ninth title has been the most sought-after and the hardest fought for.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI paid a very high price to achieve it in every aspect, especially physically and mentally.<\/p>\n<p>But, beyond that, I hope this comeback serves as an inspiration to many people, not only in the world of sports but also in everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re at the top and you fall, you don\u2019t just fall to the ground; you fall even lower, and everything is very dark there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLuckily, I have a great support system that helped me get out of there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen you have to work hard, believe in yourself, and keep improving day by day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Alex Marquez \u201chelped me the most\u201d on path to 2025 title<\/p>\n<p>Marquez\u2019s journey back to the top in MotoGP began in 2023, when younger brother <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/935450\/alex-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Marquez<\/a> helped convince him to come to the Gresini Ducati squad for the 2024 season.<\/p>\n<p>Marc Marquez won three grands prix that year and muscled his way into a factory Ducati seat for 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlex, directly and indirectly, is the one who has helped me the most,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re at home injured, it\u2019s very easy to disconnect or not want to watch any more motorcycles, because it\u2019s like reopening old wounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou tell yourself, \u2018I want that, but I can\u2019t\u2019.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that my brother was competing made me follow the championship with the same passion and desire as if I were racing myself, and that helped me a lot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen, once I got back on the bike, we each went our separate ways. But since we always trained together, it gives you a reference point physically, because normally the older brother has always been a little ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut when you are injured, him being 27 and me 30, things even out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he\u2019s already ahead on the bike, physically, in the gym.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis desire to catch up has been a real motivation.
