{"id":362800,"date":"2025-12-21T16:05:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-21T16:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/362800\/"},"modified":"2025-12-21T16:05:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T16:05:09","slug":"why-carlos-sainz-has-taken-no-pleasure-from-lewis-hamiltons-f1-struggles-at-ferrari-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/362800\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Carlos Sainz has taken no pleasure from Lewis Hamilton\u2019s F1 struggles at Ferrari in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/tag\/sainz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Sainz <\/a>has said he takes no pleasure from Lewis Hamilton\u2019s struggles at Ferrari, after a positive first year with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a> rivals Williams.<\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard enjoyed a bright second half of the year at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.williamsf1.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grove-based squad<\/a>, after a difficult opening phase of the campaign transitioning from the Scuderia.<\/p>\n<p>Sainz took Williams\u2019 first podium in eight years in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and followed it up with another in Qatar, helping the team to fifth place in the Constructors\u2019 Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton, by contrast, endured the worst season of his career, becoming only the seventh full-time Ferrari driver in its history to complete a season without a podium.<\/p>\n<p>But for Sainz, there is no joy earned from watching a driver in his old seat labouring to mediocre points finishes, instead finding it in his own results this season.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/F1-2025-Singapore-GP-Qualifying-1024x576.webp.webp\" alt=\"Both Williams drivers were eliminated in Q2\" class=\"wp-image-224831\"  \/>Carlos Sainz took two podiums in F1 2025, with Lewis Hamilton taking none<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I am satisfied with my two podiums,\u201d he told Spanish publication Marca. \u201cI am not at all satisfied with the evil of another.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m pleased that I\u2019ve achieved two podiums with Williams in Baku and Qatar, and another in the Austin Sprint and I\u2019m pleased to do it when last year there were many doubts about being able to achieve it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I announced that I was going to Williams, I felt that some people felt sorry for me. It was a bit of a weird feeling. Some journalists, social networks, I don\u2019t know, I didn\u2019t see it that way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me it was a new chapter, another opportunity, and when I arrived here in the paddock on the Tuesday of the Abu Dhabi 2024 test, dressed in a white helmet and overalls and got in the Williams and got to work, I was just thinking about the future.
