More than 1,300 people visited the Your Say page, with hundreds of surveys, polls and written submissions helping shape the final proposal.<\/p>\n<p>City of Onkaparinga CEO Phu Nguyen said the response clearly demonstrated what residents want to see in the south.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur community has been clear \u2013 they want facilities that are modern, accessible and financially sustainable. This proposal will deliver a multi-sport destination that supports active recreation, social connection and economic growth in our region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/STRYKR-Port-Noarlunga2-1-1000x563.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-666102 webpexpress-processed\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/STRYKR-Port-Noarlunga3-1-1000x563.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-666103 webpexpress-processed\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The proposal will be delivered through a long-term partnership with GreenSpace Management, transforming the existing driving range into STRYKR Port Noarlunga, a rebranded, multi-sport hub set to open on 1 January 2026.<\/p>\n<p>More than just a driving range, STRYKR has been designed as a year-round destination that blends sport, technology and social connection. At its core are 24 undercover Trackman bays offering world-class ball-tracking technology, alongside six retained grass practice bays to preserve a traditional golf experience. The facility will also introduce Australia\u2019s second URBN SHANX mini golf course and padel courts, bringing one of the world\u2019s fastest-growing sports to Adelaide in an integrated recreation setting.<\/p>\n<p>GreenSpace Management Managing Director Peter Vlahandreas said the project represents a fresh start for the site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal with STRYKR is to strike a perfect balance between innovation, site sensitivity, and community value. This fresh start transforms a beloved local asset into a modern space that invites everyone to connect, play, and thrive,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/STRYKR-Port-Noarlunga4-1-1000x563.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-666104 webpexpress-processed\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The design has been developed with environmental and community considerations front of mind, featuring a natural colour palette, low-impact construction, and a central courtyard intended as a social gathering space. Feedback from residents highlighted enthusiasm for family-friendly activities, improved training facilities, and the potential economic uplift for nearby businesses, while also raising important considerations around affordability, traffic, parking and environmental protection.<\/p>\n<p>Golf Australia has also welcomed the project, with Damien de Bohun, General Manager \u2013 Clubs, Facilities and Places to Play, noting that facilities like STRYKR reflect the idea that \u201call golf is golf,\u201d helping drive participation through social play and inclusive formats.<\/p>\n<p>The existing driving range has closed now that current operators have ceased trading, before it reopens under the STRYKR banner on 1 January 2026.
