{"id":364657,"date":"2025-12-22T14:24:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T14:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/364657\/"},"modified":"2025-12-22T14:24:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T14:24:16","slug":"fia-cuts-off-further-f1-engine-loopholes-ahead-of-2026-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/364657\/","title":{"rendered":"FIA cuts off further F1 engine loopholes ahead of 2026 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The FIA has put a stop to further potential exploitations of next year\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a> rules, with loopholes surrounding the new 50-50 hybrid engines.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 season will see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fia.com\/regulation\/category\/110\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">F1 enter a new phase<\/a> with increased electrification and a change in aerodynamics in what will be lighter and smaller cars that take to the track.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/2025\/12\/19\/why-the-fia-is-already-facing-controversy-surrounding-f1s-new-2026-engine-regulations\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reports have surfaced<\/a> that Red Bull and Mercedes have already begun to deliver impressive results in tests, which have seen them produce higher compression ratio limits.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst this is supposedly not within the rules, the two as-of-yet unidentified teams have found ambiguity in them to confidently take these steps.<\/p>\n<p>But now comes a further development, this time in the form of the new fuel flow meter limits, due to the brand new sustainable fuels being used.<\/p>\n<p>The previous limit, which measured a maximum flow of 100kg\/h, will be swapped with a fuel energy flow limit of 3000MJ\/h.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/F1-2026-render-1024x576.webp.webp\" alt=\"F1 has released new renders of the 2026 car\" class=\"wp-image-233409\"  \/>F1 teams will be watched like a hawk by the FIA in the 2026 season<\/p>\n<p>This will replace the previous format, in which both the teams and the FIA had their own separate flow meters. <\/p>\n<p>Now there will be just one, produced by Allengra.
