Married At First Sight’s<\/a> Katie Johnston<\/a> \ufeffis feeling very proud of herself revealing a major weight loss transformation.<\/p>\n

The 2025 bride has shared \ufeffher experience with a personal trainer, nutritionist, and with the advice of her GP, weight loss medication over the past few months, unveiling the results of a lifestyle overhaul on A Current Affair<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I’ve made myself so bloody proud. Not for the way I look (which is \ud83d\udd25 haha) but for how hard I’ve worked to get back to good health, well actually to good holistic health for the first time. Mental health + emotional health + physical health (NEW!). Yay!\ufeff” Katie shared on social media.<\/p>\n

Katie has lost 28 kilograms from her heaviest weight and as a DEXA scan showed, had crucially dropped visceral fat around her organs.<\/p>\n

“It wasn’t easy, it was really hard, but 12 weeks to save your life? Worth every bit of effort. \ud83d\udcaa”\ufeff she shared.<\/p>\n

It’s not just her celebrating, either.<\/p>\n

Katie’s 110,000 Instagram followers, including many of her MAFS cast mates,\ufeff showed their support for her incredible journey.<\/p>\n

“Honestly I’m so blown away. To think about how hard you’re working on yourself, how much bigger your smile has become and talking to you on the phone even your attitude and words you speak sound healthy… what an effort, I can’t wait to see you keep smashing it. F–king well done. \ud83d\udc4f” wrote groom Dave Hand.<\/p>\n

Jeff Gobbells, Rhi Disljenkovic, Jamie Marinos, Beth Kelly, Ashleigh Ackerman\ufeff and Sierah Swepstone all joined a sea of comments congratulating Katie on her results, alongside expert Alessandra Rampolla as well.<\/p>\n

In May, Katie opened up to A Current Affair about a sexual assault when she was 20 years old. She explained that the experience lead her to unhealthy habits that she was now ready to break.<\/p>\n

“I’ve only recently kind of really realised what those traumas have done to me and how I’ve suppressed them, and how I’ve stuffed them down with comfort, which for me is food, and made myself feel safe by making myself bigger and being less attractive and hiding,” she said.<\/p>\n

“And I don’t want to do that anymore.”<\/p>\n

Two months on, the restaurant CEO \ufeffwas looking forward to a brighter, healthier future.<\/p>\n

“What this moment represents is something so much deeper. Through the hardest seasons of my life, I’ve come out the other side wiser, stronger, and more resilient than ever. For the first time in my self-love journey, I’ve turned my attention to my physical health \u2013 not for approval, but for me,” Katie shared, saying she was now “thriving instead of just surviving”.<\/p>\n

“It’s not about what anyone else sees.\ud83d\udc9b It’s not about beauty standards.\ud83d\udc9b It’s about objectively knowing that my body is healthy, capable, and powerful.<\/p>\n

Katie’s MAFS journey\ufeff<\/p>\n

Katie was matched with Tim in the experiment, but their marriage was short-lived.<\/p>\n

From their wedding day, Tim said he had no attraction to Katie and that set the tone for the rest of their marriage with the groom eventually fleeing back home to Melbourne.\ufeff<\/p>\n

They officially ended things at the very first Commitment Ceremony.<\/p>\n
