The 2025 MLB trade deadline has come and gone, and boy, did things get spicy. The final two hours of trading featured more than 20 deals, with more than 10 trades coming in the final 10 minutes before the 6 p.m. ET buzzer.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the biggest deadline-day stunner was the Minnesota Twins’ deal to send Carlos Correa back to the Houston Astros<\/a>, with whom he won the 2017 World Series. Correa waived his no-trade clause to return to Houston, and the Twins will reportedly cover $30 million of the $103.42 million remaining on his contract.<\/p>\n

One of the busiest teams Thursday was undoubtedly the Padres, who made a splash early on deadline day with a trade for A’s closer Mason Miller<\/a> and starter J.P. Sears. The A’s will reportedly receive shortstop Leodalis De Vries in return. GM AJ Preller didn’t stop there, reportedly bolstering the San Diego offense by acquiring both 1B\/DH Ryan O’Hearn and OF Ramon Laureano from the Orioles<\/a> in exchange for a haul of six prospects. The Padres then added Nestor Cortes Jr. from the Brewers before the day was over.<\/p>\n

The big moves began late Wednesday, when the Seattle Mariners made a deal to reunite with third baseman Eugenio Suarez<\/a> from Arizona, adding a major power threat to their lineup. Just a few days earlier, the Mariners had added another D-backs infielder with a trade for Josh Naylor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another major theme of this deadline was bullpen moves. The splashiest trade belonged to the Philadelphia Phillies, with their deal for All-Star closer Jhoan Duran<\/a>. The New York Mets responded with quantity, landing Ryan Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals and Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants to go with Gregory Soto from the Baltimore Orioles (acquired last week). The Yankees followed Thursday by getting a new closer of their own, David Bednar, from the Pirates<\/a>. And many more relievers were on the move before the clock struck 6 p.m. on Thursday.<\/p>\n

With the buzzer sounding, there were some major names left on the board<\/a>, including Steven Kwan, Sandy Alcantara, Joe Ryan, Zac Gallen, Luis Robert Jr. and Mackenzie Gore.<\/p>\n
