A Perth man’s eligibility to hold a gun licence will be subject to a review after police charged him with allegedly posting antisemitic comments on social media.<\/p>\n

Police seized several registered firearms from the man after executing a search warrant at his Yangebup home, in Perth’s south, on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The man was arrested as part of Western Australia’s Operation Dalewood, which was launched in response to the Bondi terror attack.\u00a0<\/p>\n

WA Premier Roger Cook condemns the “cowardly and heinous” attack in Bondi, after meeting with Jewish leaders in Perth.<\/p>\n

“The man was a licensed firearms holder and possessed several registered firearms as well as a quantity of ammunition, all of which were seized,” police said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The man’s eligibility to hold a firearms licence will be subject to review.”<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old is due to face Fremantle Magistrates Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

He is facing three charges, including conduct intended to racially harass, carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon, and failing to store a firearm correctly.<\/p>\n

Operation Dalewood has seen WA Police increase patrols and their presence in the community after two gunmen killed 15 people at a Jewish gathering at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on December 14.<\/p>\n

Last Tuesday, WA police arrested and charged an 18-year-old man who was allegedly spotted wearing a Nazi symbol near a mosque in Perth’s south-eastern suburbs<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
