Idris Elba took to his TikTok<\/a> to share a video of him posing with James Bond statues. Captioned, \u201cWifey made me do it\u2026\u201d, it showed the camera panning on every 007 icon with the Bond theme playing in the background. <\/p>\n Elba was seen standing next to Daniel Craig. For the unaware, Craig last played the MI6 agent in No Time to Die (2021). This short clip has sparked rumors of Elba stepping into the shoes of the character in the next Bond film.<\/p>\n In no time, netizens filled the comment section with excitement of the potenial role. One user wrote, \u201cDear Santa, all I want for Christmas is Idris Elba as James Bond. Please and thank you.\u201d Another one said, \u201cSir\u2026 the way we\u2019ve been asking for this for years is REAL.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cYou would be amazing as James Bond,\u201d commented a third user. He said, \u201cI\u2019m hoping that my fan base as an actor isn\u2019t mad at me, but eventually, I want to transfer to be a director fully.\u201d <\/p>\n The 53-year-old added that he has \u201cbeen acting for a long time.\u201d He continued, \u201cI love it still, but I think directing allows me to flex slightly different muscles and just be a part of the set in a different way.\u201d<\/p>\n Denis Villeneuve will be directing the next Bond movie. As per Deadline<\/a>, the director is looking forward to casting a \u201cfresh face\u201d for the central character. Multiple names have been speculated online for the leading role.
