\t\t\t\t\t<\/a> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t AWE-GUSTA<\/p>\n See Rory McIlroy at the Masters 2026 with a luxury trip to spectacular Augusta <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n But Foster revealed Woods was actually cashing in a favour from three years earlier \u2013 before the first tee on the first morning of the 2002 Ryder Cup at The Belfry. <\/p>\n He explained what happened just before the 8am start between his man Clarke and Bjorn against Woods and Paul Azinger. <\/p>\n Foster told the brilliant tale to the On The Road With Iona podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cHe owed me a favour.<\/p>\n BEST FREE BETS AND BETTING SIGN UP OFFERS<\/p>\n \u201cIt was 7.45am and I was pretty nervous so off I go to the toilets, Davis Love III\u2019s caddie Cubby is in there. <\/p>\n \u201cI sit down, trolleys around the ankles\u2026 I look across, no toilet paper. Close call.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I walk into trap two, sit down, 20 rolls of toilet paper on the shelf.<\/p>\n \u201cNext minute, I hear spikes on the bathroom floor then, \u2018Morning Tiger,\u2019 \u2018Morning Cubby.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cBang. Trap one, where I\u2019ve just been. <\/p>\n \u201cNine minutes to tee off at the Ryder Cup and I\u2019m listening\u2026 <\/p>\n \u201cNow I\u2019m using the excess toilet paper, I\u2019m drying my eyes because I\u2019m crying, because I\u2019ve got this vision of Tiger Woods<\/a> with no toilet paper on the fifth hole of the day, walking like John Wayne that\u2019s just got his horse. <\/p>\n \u201cI hear this little sigh come from the cubicle, he\u2019s realised there\u2019s no toilet paper. Five minutes to tee off.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought, \u2018I can\u2019t do it to him.\u2019 <\/p>\n \u201cSo I rolled up about 20 sheets, got down on my hands and knees under his toilet door. I went, \u2018whoever\u2019s in there, you might be needing this.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cNow they go on about Diego Maradona and the Hand of God. This was the Hand of God for Tiger Woods, under the toilet door. <\/p>\n \u201cAs I walked out, I went, \u2018Europe 1up\u2019. <\/p>\n \u201cAnd as he came out, he had the biggest smile on his face. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s now like three minutes to tee off. <\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018You owe me, Tiger Woods.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cHe went, \u2018Billy Foster, I owe you big time.\u2019 <\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think that\u2019s why I got the job for the Presidents Cup, not because I\u2019m a good caddie.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarke and Bjorn won that opening fourball match 1up and led 3-1 after the morning session.<\/p>\n But USA wrestled it back to 8-8 going into the Sunday singles before Europe completed a memorable 15\u00bd-12\u00bd\u00a0victory. <\/p>\n Fast forward to the 2005 Presidents Cup and an underperforming Woods won two, lost two and halved one of his five matches as USA beat the international team 18\u00bd-15\u00bd.<\/p>\n There was talk of Foster taking on the job on a full-time basis when Woods and Williams split in 2011.<\/p>\n However, Foster would not have accepted the offer because he was enjoying success with Westwood.<\/p>\n Foster has more than 40 years of experience as a golf caddie, starting out on the European Tour in 1983.<\/p>\n After several near misses and runner-up finishes, he finally secured his first major alongside fellow Yorkshireman Fitzpatrick at the 2022 US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n The duo split earlier this year, with Foster now reducing his workload but still doing freelance caddying, such as for Morikawa at The Open. \u00a0<\/p>\n Woods remembered the hilarious interactionCredit: Getty<\/p>\n Foster was on the bag when Matt Fitzpatrick won the 2022 US OpenCredit: Getty\t\t\t\t\t\t
