{"id":369129,"date":"2025-12-24T16:02:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T16:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/369129\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T16:02:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T16:02:07","slug":"ex-teammate-reveals-incredible-prem-ace-stat-from-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/369129\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-teammate reveals incredible PREM ace stat from university"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former university rugby star and now Canadian rugby prospect, Tiarnan, who goes by the online persona Rugby T, has revealed the one physical discipline that Exeter Chiefs star Paul Brown-Bampoe dominated at university.<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs winger has become a fan favourite at Sandy Park since making his debut for the club during the 2023-24 season, after impressing in BUCS [British Universities and Colleges Sport] rugby.<\/p>\n<p>In his first full season, he scored a remarkable 105 points, which equated to 21 tries in 23 matches, including a spectacular four-try haul in the Prem Cup against Cornish Pirates.<\/p>\n<p>Although his try-scoring exploits have not yet kicked into gear this season, he remains one of the first names on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/team\/exeter-chiefs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chiefs<\/a>\u2018 teamsheet, partnering up with the equally explosive Immanuel Feyi-Waboso on the other wing.<\/p>\n<p>At just 23 years old, Brown-Bampoe has a huge future ahead of him. He\u2019s strong, fast and agile \u2013 all of which were noted by his former teammate.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to CURVA \u2013 a Free Gym App for Sports\u00a0\u2013 Tiarnan said: \u201cI went to university with him. He\u2019s just a freak athlete. He\u2019s genuinely one of the freakiest athletes I\u2019ve ever seen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNaturally, probably shredded about eight to ten per cent body fat year-round, ridiculously fast, got a crazy step that doesn\u2019t look like it should work, but still magically does. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd like even cleans ridiculous amounts (in the gym), huge bench press. The most impressive thing, I can\u2019t remember the exact number, but he had the highest counter movement jump out of any athlete in the whole of the university.
