But as a kid, he never had the chance to play or see a game in person in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. But next year, he\u2019ll finally get that chance, as the Brewers are set to take on the Atlanta Braves in the MLB Little League Classic<\/a> on Aug. 23, 2026.<\/p>\n News with a little more humanity<\/p>\n WPR\u2019s \u201cWisconsin Today\u201d newsletter keeps you connected to the state you love without feeling overwhelmed. No corporate filter.<\/p>\n \u201cThe little kid in me came out because I was like, \u2018Oh, I get to go to Williamsport,\u2019\u201d Durbin said. \u201cAnd even though I\u2019m not playing in the actual Little League World Series, it\u2019s still really cool to go and watch those games and be around it. As a baseball fan, it\u2019s one of those bucket-list items that you have to check off at least once in your life.\u201d<\/p>\n The Brewers have the third-best record in the MLB<\/a> since 2021. The franchise also recently won Baseball America\u2019s \u201cOrganization of the Year\u201d award.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure baseball recognizes that the Brewers have a great appeal,\u201d said Rick Schlesinger, Brewers president of business operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n Every year, 20 Little League teams from across the world gather in Pennsylvania to compete in the Little League World Series. Since 2017, that is followed by the MLB Little League Classic<\/a>. Players from the Brewers and Braves will attend Little League World Series games during the day, before their game starts at 6:10 p.m. Central time.<\/p>\n MLB players will likely sign autographs for kids, and some may even slide down a hill at the complex, a recent tradition<\/a>. Durbin said he\u2019s interested in participating.<\/p>\n \u201c(I) definitely want to see what that\u2019s all about,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Little League players and their families will be in attendance during the game, which is being played at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field. <\/a>Schlesinger said around 2,000 people will be in attendance at the nearly 100-year-old ballpark.<\/p>\n \u201cThese kids are so into the Little League World Series, but they\u2019re also so into the Brewers,\u201d said Lindsay Weber, the vice president of the Whitefish Bay Little League. \u201cCombining those two is really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n Jason Steichen, head coach of Elmbrook Little League<\/a>, took his three children to the Little League World Series a few years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThe kids who are playing the games there are basically like celebrities,\u201d Steichen said. \u201cYou got a bunch of little boys running around looking for these 12-year-old boys\u2019 autographs, who nobody knew who they were a week prior.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThose kids then get to go and kind of give that same treatment to the Major Leaguers, who are obviously their idols,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Whitefish Bay Little League<\/a> has around 500 families who participate in the league, which includes baseball and softball. The league\u2019s 12-year-old baseball team almost made it to the Little League World Series in 2025.<\/a><\/p>\n Mike Schwartz, president of the league, said the MLB Little League Classic is an opportunity for Major Leaguer players to show their personality.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s fun because the Little Leaguers are all like \u2018Oh my goodness, there\u2019s all these players who I love, there\u2019s Christian Yelich, there\u2019s Sal Frelick, all these guys,\u2019\u201d Schwartz said. \u201cBut the big leaguers are responding the same way, because they see all these 12-year-olds who are living the dream they had that they may not have been able to reach.\u201d<\/p>\n The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
