A man has died after he was stabbed late on Christmas Eve, with residents of Perth suburb Aubin Grove reporting banging sounds shortly before police and ambulance officers arrived.<\/p>\n
Police say the man was found with stab wounds about 10:40pm on Wednesday near Talisker Gate.<\/p>\n
He was taken to a Perth hospital but died soon after.<\/p>\n
Forensic officers were combing the car park of a shopping complex on the street where the man is understood to have been found.<\/p>\n

A resident, Brenton, who asked that his surname not be used, said he had just gone to bed when he heard “weird” knocking and thudding sounds on the street.<\/p>\n
“I was probably just watching a bit of YouTube on my phone and I could see all the lights coming through and just weird noises, and I thought ‘what the bloody hell is going on?’,” he said.<\/p>\n
“I looked out the window and I just seen all the detectives, all the cars out the front, and found out someone lost their life.<\/p>\n
“It was pretty scary. Happened 30 metres away from the room where I’ve got my little eight-week-old baby.”<\/p>\n

Residents told the ABC the area was generally quiet and spotlights usually shone in the shopping centre car park, but they had been switched off last night.<\/p>\n
“It’s [usually] a nice little pocket of heaven,” Brenton said.<\/p>\n
The ABC understands men in a vehicle were seen leaving the scene overnight.<\/p>\n
Detectives were knocking on the doors of residents today in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n
The homicide squad is investigating and asks anyone with information or mobile phone, dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n
