After building the social network that redefined public discourse he walked away, in search of more decentralized forms of communication, in line with his beliefs about freedom in the digital environment.<\/p>\n<p id=\"b597\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph om on is oo b op oq or os ot ou ov ow gn ox oy oz gq pa pb pc gt pd pe pf pg hp bk\">His latest brainchild, <a class=\"ag hn\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bitchat\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Bitchat<\/a>, illustrates <a class=\"ag hn\" href=\"https:\/\/bitchats.app\/\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">the lengths he is prepared to go<\/a> in pursuit of his ideas. <a class=\"ag hn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techrepublic.com\/article\/news-jack-dorsey-bitchat\/\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">An instant messaging app<\/a> that <a class=\"ag hn\" href=\"https:\/\/arnavgireesh24.medium.com\/bitchat-jack-dorseys-twitter-founder-bold-experiment-in-offline-messaging-de02ae30b176\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">does not require an internet connection, servers or user accounts<\/a>, a phone number, email address or any personal information, instead, it works simply with a bluetooth-enable phone. The goal is to show that it\u2019s possible to chat and even transfer bitcoins without relying on mobile networks or servers, using only the modest Bluetooth radio that we all carry in our pockets. And it works, at least to a certain extent.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7c00\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph om on is oo b op oq or os ot ou ov ow gn ox oy oz gq pa pb pc gt pd pe pf pg hp bk\">The app was launched on July 10 as a limited beta and sold out its 10,000 TestFlight slots in a matter of hours. Now, <a class=\"ag hn\" href=\"https:\/\/bridgefy.me\/\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">it\u2019s available in the App Store<\/a>, and offers a somewhat spartan experience: you open the app and, if there\u2019s someone nearby who also has it, you\u2019re already in the channel, an almost romantic return to the IRC era, but without any common infrastructure.
