In a somewhat surprising move ahead of CES 2026,\u00a0LG has announced<\/a>\u00a0its latest top-of-the-line gaming monitor, the\u00a0UltraGear 39GX950B evo, which claims the throne as the world\u2019s first 39-inch 5K2K monitor. LG\u2019s 39-inch 5K2K display is supposed to make its first physical appearance at CES 2026. <\/p>\n

What makes the\u00a0UltraGear 39GX950B evo\u00a0impressive is that it packs 5120 x 2160 pixels into a sharp, 142 PPI dense, 39-inch form factor and promises crisper visual fidelity than prior models in the UltraGear lineup. For anyone with a high-end PC looking to get the best picture quality on a desktop rig, LG\u2019s upcoming 5K2K 39-inch monitor commands attention to say the least. <\/p>\n

In response to prior user feedback, LG has opted for a more subtle 1500R curvature rather than the sharper curves on its earlier ultrawide OLED monitors. Under the hood, it makes the most of a 4th-generation Primary RGB Tandem WOLED panel, which promises 99.5% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It\u2019s also certified for VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black, ensuring accurate blacks along with respectable HDR performance. <\/p>\n

LG\u2019s new UltraGear monitor also maintains the vertical height of a 32-inch display and stretches horizontally to play games or watch movies at a 21:9 aspect ratio. <\/p>\n

For gamers looking to make the most of their GPU\u2019s performance, the\u00a0UltraGear 39GX950B evo\u00a0features a 165Hz refresh rate and a 0.03 G2G (Gray-to-Gray) response time. To up the ante, it also comes baked in with a dual-mode option that scales the resolution to 2560 x 1080p for 330Hz gaming in eSports titles and competitive multiplayer games like\u00a0Valorant, Counter-Strike 2, Arc Raiders, and Battlefield 6.<\/p>\n

LG is also introducing new features to its UltraGear brand with the evo lineup. Part of the evo lineup, the\u00a0UltraGear 39GX950B\u00a0features built-in AI that supposedly analyzes and enhances content in real time before it’s displayed on your screen. LG promises near-5k AI-upscaled quality without needing a powerful GPU. <\/p>\n

Furthermore, the baked-in AI tech refines on-screen images with LG’s \u201cAI Scene Optimization\u201d and enhances audio immersion with \u201cAI Sound.\u201d Connectivity options for the UltraGear include a DisplayPort 2.1 port supporting full-speed UHBR20, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and one USB Type-C port with DP Alt mode and 90W power output for fast charging. <\/p>\n

For now, pricing and availability of the\u00a0UltraGear 39GX950B evo\u00a0are unknown, as LG plans to debut it at CES 2026 this coming January. <\/p>\n

For those who can’t wait, however, LG’s current-gen 39-inch offering, the 39GX90SA-W,\u00a0is also on sale on Amazon with a 35% price cut<\/a>.<\/p>\n
