Next, could Bryson DeChambeau leave LIV Golf?<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_6hmx2b27d\">In <a class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/flushingitgolf\/status\/2005032334421008882\" rel=\"nofollow\">an interview with Flushingitgolf<\/a>, the two-time U.S. Open champion was noncommittal about his future with his LIV contract expiring after 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_q82hto3hl\">\u201cI mean, look, it\u2019s confidential,\u201d DeChambeau said. \u201cI\u2019m not going to share too much, but the conversations are in process. We have to get to a place where both parties have a good understanding of one another. It is getting to a place that makes sense for both sides.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">dark. Sign Up Now. Life throws curveballs and, obviously, we saw [<a class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/golf\/brooks-koepka-announces-will-leave-liv-golf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Koepka leaving LIV<\/a>] and that was quite a shock to a lot of people and something that, you know, it is what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_wrxtw1ddf\">DeChambeau, 32, joined LIV in 2022 and has won three times on the Saudi-backed circuit. At the U.S. Open earlier this year, he expressed interest in re-signing with LIV, saying, \u201cThey see the value in me. I see the value in what they can provide, and I believe we\u2019ll come to some sort of resolution on that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_c92ih15un\">Since then, his tune has changed a little, and DeChambeau sees room for improvement as LIV CEO Scott O\u2019Neil enters his second year at the helm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Brooks Koepka leaving LIV Golf is an obvious blow to the league. But, it would be a considerably bigger blow if Bryson DeChambeau were to do the same. Things have got to improve,\u201d DeChambeau said. \u201cAnd I think Scott\u2019s done a fabulous job with the year that he\u2019s had. And I think this year\u2019s going to be even better, now he\u2019s got the right people in place and he can run the organization the way he wants to do this here. So it\u2019s going to be interesting to see, especially with the new branding coming on. It\u2019s going to be interesting to see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_j9nr8oo5w\">A few months ago, LIV announced it would <a class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/golf\/inside-liv-golf-shift-from-54-to-72-holes-what-it-means\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shift from 54 to 72 holes per tournament<\/a>, in pursuit of receiving world ranking points.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_t2axb82vd\">As for Koepka, does DeChambeau believe the PGA Tour should create a pathway to let him back?<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_qbsaei04m\">\u201cI don\u2019t know, man. I don&#8217;t know what they should allow or not \u2026 if they\u2019re going to be doing it by the book, they should do it by the book and not give any special exemption,\u201d DeChambeau said. \u201cBut if there\u2019s a special exemption, it definitely opens the doors for others to do the same, which, you know, it\u2019s a slippery slope for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_mssoy8bk4\">If DeChambeau were to follow in the footsteps of his former foe and leave LIV, he still might not have a desire return to the PGA Tour, especially with the success of his YouTube channel, which has over 2.5 million subscribers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_ayc8omyxc\">Of course, his comments could be a negotiating tactic, and his future will ultimately be with LIV. <\/p>\n<p>More Golf from Sports Illustrated<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"First, it was Brooks Koepka.
