Just as potential Australian all-star Josh Giddey went down with an injury<\/a>, former Australian all-star Ben Simmons says he is in no rush to make an NBA comeback, as he continues to try and get his body to 100 per cent.<\/p>\n

Simmons, who has only played in 108 games since the start of the 2021-22 season, is currently without a team, after not signing with any club in free agency. He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Injuries have been the reason for the downfall of the former three-time all-star, but Simmons now says he wants to make sure his body is fully healthy before returning to the court.<\/p>\n

“I’m about to be 30 years old, and I need to make the best decision for Ben Simmons,” he told The Athletic’s\u00a0Sam Jane<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It’s not fun going out there, not being able to move, not be able to jump, or, you know, take hits. There’s no fun in that. Sometimes you got to make a decision with how you feel and what’s best for yourself. And that’s what I’ve done, and it’s not for everybody to really understand, because they’re not in my shoes.”<\/p>\n

According to Jane, Simmons also said his jump shot “finally feels good and that he can now take a simple hook shot without any discomfort.”<\/p>\n
