Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans said Tuesday it’s possible he’ll return for a 13th NFL season after his contract expires this summer.<\/p>\n
“Someone was just thanking me for all I’ve done, and kind of just writing me off like I’m done after this,” Evans said Tuesday (h\/t the Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud). “But I don’t know, we’ll see… it’s always a possibility.”<\/p>\n
Evans said he’s currently treating the Buccaneers’ upcoming regular season finale against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday as “a normal game.”<\/p>\n
“I just approach it how I always approach it,” Evans said (h\/t ESPN’s Jenna Laine<\/a>). “It’s whatever happens, happens. I’ll focus on that when the time is right. <\/p>\n “Right now, we have to win. And I’m always giving my all and I’m always gonna go out swinging.”<\/p>\n The Buccaneers need to defeat the Panthers this Saturday in order to keep their hopes of a playoff berth alive.<\/p>\n Even then, Tampa Bay could only get into the playoffs if the New Orleans Saints defeat the Atlanta Falcons the following day.<\/p>\n The team will at least have the benefit of Baker Mayfield being able to work with Evans, who was sidelined for almost two months after suffering a broken collarbone<\/a> in Week 7.<\/p>\n The cast surrounding Mayfield could be even more important in Week 18 given that the quarterback was limited during Tuesday’s practice with right shoulder and knee injuries.<\/p>\n
