After all these years, John Lydon<\/a> hasn\u2019t received a word from his old Sex Pistols<\/a> bandmates.<\/p>\n

\u201cI expected some kind of connection when [my wife] Nora died [in 2023], but nothing,\u201d he recently told The Times<\/a>.\u00a0Lydon\u2019s wife, Nora Forster, who was by his side for 44 years, passed away in 2023 due to Alzheimer\u2019s complications.<\/p>\n

While the Sex Pistols, which included Lydon from 1975 to 1978 and again briefly in 1996, didn\u2019t contact him, he still holds \u201ca very great fondness for the chaps from that period.\u201d<\/p>\n

He did, however, clarify, \u201cWhat they evolved\u2014or devolved\u2014into since is another consequence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lydon\u2019s comments come after a long history of clashes with guitarist Steve Jones, bassist Glen Matlock and drummer Paul Cook. In 2021, Jones and Cook sued him over the use of Sex Pistols songs in Danny Boyle\u2019s Pistol, which drew from Jones\u2019 memoirs.<\/p>\n

Lydon lost the lawsuit, with the musicians arguing that a \u201cmajority rule agreement\u201d allowed them to override his objection. The trio has since revived the band without him, bringing Frank Carter on as the new vocalist.<\/p>\n

When questioned by The Times about a possible reunion with his former bandmates, Lydon\u2019s response was final: \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that, despite his public objections, he had hoped the Pistol series would be good, but in the end, he called it \u201cterrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSomething in me wanted it to be good, but it might as well have been about the Partridge Family,\u201d Lydon said. \u201cI don\u2019t like anything to do with it because I wasn\u2019t asked to contribute.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no shock to fans that the other Sex Pistols have largely shunned Lydon in recent years. In a Rolling Stone<\/a> interview, Jones even said he tried to break his own wrist to cut short a 2008 reunion tour with Lydon, because, \u201cI didn\u2019t ever want to f****** hang out with [Lydon] again.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2017, Cook ruled out any reunion with Lydon for the Never Mind the Bollocks 50thanniversary<\/a> tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wouldn\u2019t want to do it, and John definitely wouldn\u2019t want to do it after what\u2019s happened,\u201d he said in the Rolling Stone interview. \u201cSo, that\u2019s it. And I don\u2019t want to do it with John anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n
