A prolonged tactical phase followed, allowing Joran Wyseure to rejoin the leaders and turn the contest into a three-man standoff.

The decisive moment came in the sand. Nys crashed heavily and took Wyseure with him, while Del Grosso escaped the chaos and opened a crucial gap. Nys mounted one final effort on the Regimentsberg, briefly closing to within five seconds, but the move emptied his tank. Wyseure capitalised, moving into second as Nys was forced to back off.

Del Grosso held firm on the final lap, even finding time for a confident jump on the bridge, to secure the win.
