Thursday is the new year \u2014 which means everyone who has transferred to a new team will be officially there. Including Remco Evenepoel. It also means they can wear their new team kit. That may change next year, as the UCI is possibly changing the fiscal year for pro contracts from Nov. 1 to Nov. 1. That means no more mismatched riders at team camps in November.<\/p>\n
UCI mulling new rule that actually makes sense<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n But back to Evenepoel. On Wednesday, he posted a kind message to the team he has called home for the past seven seasons. He turned pro in his first year in the big leagues with Soudal Quick-Step \u2014 then Deceuninck\u2013Quick-Step \u2014 after a very impressive junior year. In 2018, he had a bunch of very impressive results. That including taking both the TT and road race worlds. And the way he won the road race was\u2026beyond impressive. Evenepoel was delayed early by a mechanical and lost time. But he rode back through the field, got back near the front, then attacked and won solo. It was a helluva win, and a sign of things to come.<\/p>\n At Clasica San Sebastian Remco Evenepoel becomes youngest rider to win a WorldTour race<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Across his years with Soudal Quick-Step, Remco Evenepoel built a seriously impressive palmar\u00e8s. The 25-year-old pro racked up 67 professional victories. He has one Grand Tour win (thus far) \u2014 the 2022 Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a. And multiple podiums. Evenepoel also has two dubs at Li\u00e8ge\u2013Bastogne\u2013Li\u00e8ge and three at the Cl\u00e1sica San Sebasti\u00e1n.<\/p>\n The Belgian collected a whopping four world titles across the road race and TT. And of course he completed an Olympic double in Paris<\/a>, with a wild win in the road race.<\/p>\n He\u2019s also got two European time trial championships on his r\u00e9sum\u00e9. Not bad.
