{"id":385572,"date":"2026-01-01T22:26:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T22:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/385572\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T22:26:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T22:26:15","slug":"geraldton-bendigo-bank-cricket-league-sporties-duo-leads-mens-and-womens-cricketer-of-the-year-count","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/385572\/","title":{"rendered":"Geraldton Bendigo Bank Cricket League: Sporties duo leads men\u2019s and women\u2019s Cricketer of the Year count"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">With the 2025-26 Geraldton Bendigo Bank Cricket League season in recess, Geraldton\u2019s cricket expert Victor Tanti takes a look at some of the key statistics and top performers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">A-grade men\u2019s<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Sporties\u2019 Clint Yeates currently leads the Cricketer of the Year count with 505 votes after impressing with both bat and ball in the first 10 rounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Yeates averages 49.19 with four 50s and many of his runs also against the odds, and is currently ranked second in batting aggregate with 295 runs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">However, Wanderers\u2019 Kade Gillingham tops the batting aggregate with 324 runs with three 50s to his name, coming in ahead of Yeates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Others to impress are Shayne Bidwell (Wan) 265, Darcy Ingle (Spo) 263, Seb Bainbridge (BP) 239 and Nigel Routledge (CVN) 200.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The averages are led by Bidwell and Yeates, respectively 48 and 41-years-old. Bidwell averages 53.00 with an unbeaten 105 and a 79, both made under pressure. Sporties\u2019 Riley Barham averages 42.00.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The bowling aggregate is streeted by Sporties\u2019 Zac Williamson with 26 wickets and three five wicket hauls, ahead of Damien King (Wan) who has 16 wickets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Others are James Morrison (BP) 15 with three three-wicket hauls, Tom Witt (Twn) 14 then Justin Clarkson (Wan) and Brad Boyer (CVN) on 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Williamson heads the averages (minimum 10 wickets) on 7.11 and Yeates has 12 at 7.83. Credit: Guy Skillen \/RegionalHUB<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Women\u2019s competition<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">In Women\u2019s Young Motors T20s, Sporties\u2019 Shyanne Thomas-Mirrielees tops the batting aggregate and average (298 runs at 49.44), including a 106 not out against CVN and leads Cricketer of the Year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Next is Olivia Bidwell (Wanderers) with 270 runs then teammate Abby Green with 182 and Belinda Burrows (Sporties) on 167. Bidwell has three 50s is second on the averages on 45.00, while Burrows sits on 41.75.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Towns\u2019 Indiana Burns heads the bowling aggregate with 15 wickets featuring four three-wicket bags. Next are Ashlyn Thompson (Wanderers) and Jo Walker (Sporties) on 12 and Isabelle MacPherson (Towns) 11.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The averages (minimum of eight wickets) are led by Thompson\u2019s 5.41 followed by Green with 7.50 and Walker on 7.75.
