Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown wasn’t impressed after New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson received Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors over him. <\/p>\n

After the NBA announced Brunson as the winner of the December award, Brown reacted in a post on X. <\/p>\n

The Celtics wing earned<\/a> two Eastern Conference Player of the Week awards during the month of December. <\/p>\n

Brown averaged 31.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field, 42.6 percent from behind the arc and 79.3 percent on free throws in December. The Celtics posted a 9-3 record during the month.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Brunson recorded 30.6 points, 7.1 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game on 47.5\/40.5\/82.6 shooting splits in December. New York compiled a 10-4 record.<\/p>\n

It’s worth noting that both teams also faced off on Dec. 2, with Boston securing a 123-117 win.<\/p>\n

Brown scored a season-high 42 points on 16-of-24 shooting in the victory, while Brunson finished with 15 points and 11 assists despite shooting 6-of-21 from the field.<\/p>\n

Although Brown’s individual production and head-to-head success gives him an advantage when comparing both players in December, the league might have given Brunson the edge considering New York’s NBA Cup victory.<\/p>\n

The Knicks took down the San Antonio Spurs by the final score of 124-113 in the Cup final on Dec. 16, with Brunson taking home\u00a0MVP honors<\/a>\u00a0for the tournament.<\/p>\n

Brown may not have an Eastern Conference Player of the Month selection under his belt, but he still has plenty of accolades.
