Max Verstappen has implored Red Bull to investigate the “low grip” and lack of balance he experienced in his RB21 during FP1 and FP2 at the Hungarian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

The four-time F1 drivers’ champion finished the first two hours of practice in ninth and P14, respectively, labelling it a “very tough” day at the Hungaroring.<\/p>\n

It included a trip to the stewards for the Milton Keynes squad, being alleged to have sent him out on track with his car in an unsafe condition during the final Friday session.<\/p>\n

Verstappen was seen throwing a towel away from the cockpit of his car, decisive action he defended as preventing a potentially “dangerous” situation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The officials ultimately mitigated any potential punishment down to a warning<\/a>, but it came as little consolation to the Dutchman.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, today was very tough,” the 65-time grand prix winner said after the second free practice session in Budapest.<\/p>\n

“Just really low grip feeling and not really a balance in the car. It’s even difficult to say what the exact problem is – nothing really works.”<\/p>\n

Whilst Red Bull underwhelming on a Friday is nothing new, and has even become a calling card of the team, Verstappen called for the team to look into its lack of performance overnight.<\/p>\n

“This is something that we have to investigate overnight, because so far, of course, it hasn’t been our weekend.”<\/p>\n
