The family of actor Tommy Lee Jones<\/a> has asked for privacy following the loss of his daughter, Victoria Jones, who was found dead<\/a> on New Year\u2019s Day at a San Francisco hotel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,\u201d the family said in a statement. \u201cPlease respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones, 34, was found unresponsive at the Fairmont San Francisco<\/a> on 1 January after police officers were called to respond to a medical emergency at the hotel around 3am.<\/p>\n

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. In a dispatch audio, obtained by TMZ<\/a>, a call for the incident came in as a \u201ccode 3 for the overdose, color change\u201d. Officials have not released a cause of death and police have said they do not suspect foul play.<\/p>\n

Jones was the daughter of the Academy award-winning actor and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. The couple were divorced in 1996 and have a son, Austin Jones, 43.<\/p>\n

Jones appeared in several films as a child, including Men in Black II alongside her father and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which Jones directed, as well as making an appearance in the TV series One Tree Hill.<\/p>\n

Court records obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle<\/a> show that a woman identified as Victoria Jones was arrested several times on misdemeanor charges in Napa and Santa Cruz counties last year.<\/p>\n

They include an arrest in April for obstructing a peace officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic controlled substance, and an arrest the following month for resisting or obstructing a public officer and public intoxication.<\/p>\n

In June, she was arrested on misdemeanor domestic battery charges and related allegations involving domestic violence or elder abuse, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

In 2023, her father successfully petitioned a Marin county judge to place her under a temporary conservatorship, arguing that she was engaging in \u201clife-threatening conduct\u201d and needed drug rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

At the time of the request, the Chronicle said<\/a>, Marin county court records showed that Victoria Jones was being involuntarily held at a hospital in Greenbrae for being a danger to herself or others.<\/p>\n

Jones needed \u201cthe services provided by a drug rehabilitation facility that are not available at a hospital\u201d, the actor\u2019s petition stated. \u201cThe proposed conservatee needs to recover and work towards sobriety.
