Awards season for 2026 has officially begun<\/a>!<\/p>\n

The Critics Choice Awards are taking place<\/a> today in Santa Monica, California, with some of the world’s biggest stars set to attend.<\/p>\n

Comedian Chelsea Handler is returning as host for the fourth year in a row, but there is one major shift in this year’s show with four new categories introduced: Best variety series, best stunt design, best casting and ensemble, and best sound. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Ryan Coogler’s hit vampire flick Sinner’s leads the pack this year with a whopping 17 nominations, closely followed by Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, with a total of 14.<\/p>\n

In terms of TV, Netflix execs are sure to be smiling as the network’s single-take drama Adolescence is going into the ceremony with a total of six nominations, and the hit comedy Nobody Wants This trailing close behind with five.<\/p>\n

This year’s event is expected to be particularly star-studded with actors such as \ufeffAdam Sandler, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Stone, Ariana Grande, and Sean Penn all nominated in their respective categories.<\/p>\n
