{"id":392428,"date":"2026-01-05T04:44:21","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T04:44:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/392428\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T04:44:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T04:44:21","slug":"lakers-trade-rumors-latest-on-las-approach-to-2026-nba-deadline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/392428\/","title":{"rendered":"Lakers Trade Rumors, Latest on LA&#8217;s Approach to 2026 NBA Deadline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Los Angeles Lakers have had a solid start to the 2025-26 campaign, but they&#8217;re hoping to make some moves ahead of the deadline. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Per NBA insider <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/marcstein.substack.com\/p\/sunday-best-the-nba-trade-season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Marc Stein<\/a>, &#8220;the Lakers continue to scour the trade market in hopes of acquiring a two-way wing with size&#8221; before the deadline. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">However, Stein also noted that the market for the kind of player the Lakers are looking for is a bit dry, especially since the New Orleans Pelicans are &#8220;still resistant&#8221; to trade either Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">What Los Angeles does at the deadline may also determine its plans for the offseason. According to Stein, the Lakers &#8220;are only going to sacrifice their projected financial flexibility in the summer&#8221; if they can land a &#8220;real needle-mover&#8221; at the deadline. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Lakers are sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference at 21-11, but have struggled as of late, losing seven of their last 13 games.
