Abrams\u2019 next feature is reportedly set to be titled \u201cThe Great Beyond\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldofreel.com\/blog\/2026\/1\/3\/jj-abrams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World of Reel<\/a> reports that the title has emerged from a WGA filing with Abrams credited on the screenplay.  The project was previously going by the working title \u201cGhostwriter\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Set up at Warner Bros. Pictures, the project follows \u201can author of popular fantasy novels who reveals that the mythical world he\u2019s known for creating is actually real, sending the lead character on a quest\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Glenn Powell, Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey, and Samuel L. Jackson star in the film, which is rumoured to be a 1980s throwback with \u201cThe Last Starfighter\u201d serving as inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>Filming took place in London back in mid-2025, with post-production now well underway.
