The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Christian Dvorak on a five-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $5.15M, according to General Manager Daniel Briere. <\/p>\n
“We’re very happy to have Christian be a part of the Philadelphia Flyers for the foreseeable future,” said Briere. “He has played a pivotal role in our team’s success this season and proven to be a reliable, two-way center that can be trusted in all situations. More importantly, he plays a big role in our locker room and has fit in seamlessly to our group and what we are building.” <\/p>\n
Dvorak, 29 (2\/2\/1996), signed with the Flyers as a free agent on July 1, 2025, and has recorded nine goals and 25 points in 39 games this season. His 25 points are tied for third-most on the Flyers at the halfway point of the season. The centerman is on pace to surpass his career-high point total of 38 (18g-20a), set during the 2019\u201320 season. Dvorak has posted five multi-point contests this season, which are just three shy of matching his single-season career-high total of eight (2020-21). <\/p>\n
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward was selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the second round (58th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft and has gone on to play parts of 10 seasons (2016-26) in the NHL with Arizona (2016-21), Montreal Canadiens (2021-25), and Philadelphia Flyers (2025-present). He has registered 114 goals, 160 assists, and 274 points in 573 career games. <\/p>\n
The native of Palos, IL has represented the U.S. on two occasions: the 2017 World Championship and 2016 World Junior Championship. At the 2016 World Junior Championship, he helped the U.S. to a bronze medal finish as he registered three goals and eight points in seven games played. <\/p>\n
Prior to turning professional, Dvorak played for the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for parts of three seasons (2013-16) and captained them to a Memorial Cup Championship in 2016.
