Mexico\u2019s Brandon Mej\u00eda became the featherweight champion by defeating Muhamet Qamili in a unanimous decision. This was the \u201cheart\u201d of the tournament, a true and veritable war in the ring where both avidly sought a knockout. Mej\u00eda landed the cleaner combinations and moved out of the line of fire, while Qamili focused on counter-punching. Despite a gritty performance from the Italian, Mej\u00eda took the win.<\/p>\n

SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Colombia\u2019s Carlos Utria claimed the super lightweight title by defeating Uzbekistan\u2019s Mujibillo Tursunov. Utria\u2019s technique and power were evident from the outset, making the Uzbek fighter retreat\u2014something unseen previously in the tournament. Utria dominated the scorecards and used sharp uppercuts to secure the win.<\/p>\n
