Arvid Lindblad<\/a> has said he is \u201cused to being thrown in the deep end\u201d as he outlines his Formula 1<\/a> debut expectations in 2026. <\/p>\n

Lindblad will make his step up to the pinnacle of motorsport with Red Bull\u2019s sister outfit Racing Bulls<\/a> next season.<\/p>\n

Not only will this be his rookie season but it will also mark the turn of a new era for F1 with its 2026 regulations reset set to take shape. <\/p>\n

The new technical rule-set will introduce a manual override mode, active-aerodynamics and a more powerful battery which will deliver 50% of the engine\u2019s total output. <\/p>\n

That said, the 18-year-old remains unperturbed by the prospect of tackling arguably the most complex cars in only his maiden season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve come through the ranks pretty quickly,\u201d Lindblad told F1. \u201cI\u2019ve just been in each category one year, so every year I\u2019m used to being thrown in the deep end.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a relatively successful karting career, Lindblad made his debut with single-seaters in the Italian F4 championship in 2022. He won the Macau Grand Prix the following year before making the jump up to F3 in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor sure on that side it will help [adapt to F1] because I\u2019m used to being in this situation,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut on the other hand, I haven\u2019t done Formula 1 yet so I don\u2019t know what\u2019s coming. We need to see and I need to be open minded and work hard because this step will be the biggest one I\u2019ve dealt with so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"ArvidArvid Lindblad impressed his Red Bull paymasters in F1\u2019s feeder series so much that he has been handed the task of full race seat despite his tender 18 years<\/p>\n

FP1 outings a huge boost to Lindblad\u2019s F1 debut <\/p>\n

Lindblad was plying his trade in F2 for Campos Racing, last season, finishing sixth overall at the end of the season, and earning himself a special FIA superlicense dispensation. <\/p>\n

This meant that the British-Swedish driver took part in two FP1 sessions for Red Bull, last year, in Silverstone and Mexico, respectively. <\/p>\n

At the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the 18-year-old put up an impressive showing, finishing sixth \u2013 prompting the Milton-Keynes-based team to enlist him in their ranks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always just thought that if I was just focused on the performance in F2, that was the thing that would give me the best opportunity [to step up to F1],\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo that was always what I was focused on. I believed that if I did everything right and if I performed well, potentially there would be an opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo all these things \u2013 with the Super Licence and the FP1s \u2013 were a bit of a confidence booster that I was doing the right things, that things were going well.\u201d<\/p>\n
