As if his humiliation was not complete, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/a> is facing a new charge: copying Donald Trump\u2019s dance moves.<\/p>\n

The US president on Tuesday accused the ousted Venezuelan leader, who faces terrorism and drug trafficking charges, of imitating Trump\u2019s signature hip-swaying and stiff arm-waving.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe gets up there and he tries to imitate my dance a little bit,\u201d Trump told a gathering of congressional Republicans in Washington.<\/p>\n

The jibe appeared to reference a report that Maduro\u2019s regular public dancing \u2013 he appeared on stage to a techno remix of his mantra \u201cNo War, Yes Peace\u201d \u2013 and other displays of nonchalance in recent weeks contributed to the White House\u2019s decision to abduct him.<\/p>\n

The late Hugo Ch\u00e1vez, Maduro\u2019s mentor and role model, frequently danced at rallies, but Trump\u2019s team felt Maduro was mocking a buildup of US military force and demands for him to step down, according to the New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

US forces seized Maduro <\/a>and his wife, Cilia Flores, in a raid on Saturday that left dozens dead and stunned Venezuela\u2019s government but left it in place.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s comments appeared designed to add to Maduro\u2019s humiliation a day after his arraignment hearing <\/a>at a federal court in Manhattan.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the rebranded Trump-Kennedy Centre in Washington, the US president also made darker accusations about Venezuela\u2019s deposed dictator. \u201cHe\u2019s a violent guy, and he\u2019s killed millions of people. He\u2019s tortured \u2013 they have a torture chamber in the middle of Caracas that they\u2019re closing up.\u201d Trump did not elaborate on this claim.<\/p>\n

Trump has faced widespread scorn <\/a>for his dancing at rallies, including to the disco song YMCA<\/a>, but supporters have lauded and copied it.<\/p>\n

The president said his wife, Melania, considered his signature moves to be unpresidential. \u201cShe hates it when I dance. I said, \u2018everybody wants me to dance, darling\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the first lady replied: \u201cThey don\u2019t like it. They\u2019re just being nice to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump told her she was wrong. \u201cThe place goes crazy.
