Marvel continues to roll out teaser trailers for its upcoming film, \u201cAvengers: Doomsday,\u201d and on Tuesday, the latest trailer was officially released online, confirming the return of the X-Men. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The trailer opens with Professor Charles Xavier\u2019s (Patrick Stewart) abandoned School for Gifted Youngsters, the home of the X-Men, according to Variety<\/a>. Magneto (Ian McKellen) can be heard saying, \u201cDeath comes for us all. That\u2019s all I know for sure. The question isn\u2019t are you prepared to die? The question is, who will you be when you close your eyes?\u201d<\/p>\n After a brief glimpse at Xavier\u2019s wheelchair, Professor X and Magneto are involved in a game of hover-chess where the two frenemies reunite, per Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n The trailer also features a quick-cut of Cyclops (James Marsden) ripping off his visor and unleashing an optic blast.<\/p>\n Who else is in the cast? <\/p>\n Several other X-Men are set to appear in \u201cDoomsday,\u201d including NightCrawler (Alan Cumming), Beast (Kelsey Grammer), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) and Gambit (Channing Tatum). With the film\u2019s sprawling cast, it remains unclear how large a role the mutants will play in the story.<\/p>\n They will be joined by a wide range of Marvel heroes, including Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Black Panther (Letitia Wright), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Susan Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), among others, according to Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n Robert Downey Jr. is also returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this time as Victor Von Doom, better known as Doctor Doom, the antagonist of the film. <\/p>\n Earlier teaser trailers confirmed the return of Thor<\/a> (Chris Hemsworth) and Steve Rogers<\/a> (Chris Evans), despite Evans telling fans in an interview last year that he would not be involved in the films, as previously reported by Deseret News<\/a>. <\/p>\n Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed \u201cAvengers: Endgame,\u201d are returning to direct the project. <\/p>\n Following the wave of trailers, Marvel fans took to X to share a mix of excitement, skepticism and shock over the size of the cast and the story they will tell. <\/p>\n I can\u2019t be the only one who has very little faith in Avengers: Doomsday being legitimately good, right?<\/p>\n \u2014 Zachary S.
