The Blues can confirm AJ Lam has signed with French Top 14 club ASM Clermont Auvergne and will depart the club after the 2026 Super Rugby season.<\/p>\n

Lam remains fully committed to the Blues for the entirety of the upcoming campaign, where he\u2019ll continue to play a key role on and off the field.<\/p>\n

Since making his Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2021, Lam has built a reputation as one of the club\u2019s most dynamic backs.<\/p>\n

Lam has amassed 58 caps for the Blues and was a key figure in the team\u2019s 2024 title run.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his decision, Lam says the move is an exciting new chapter, but for now his focus remains firmly on the Blues.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis club has shaped me. The Blues have been my home and I\u2019m proud of what we\u2019ve achieved.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m grateful for the support from the coaches, staff, my teammates and our fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I\u2019m excited for the opportunity in France, my goal right now is to give everything to the Blues in 2026 and finish my time here in the best possible way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blues general manager of rugby Murray Williams says Lam will leave a lasting impression with the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cAJ is a Blues man through and through. He\u2019s grown with this club from the moment he arrived.<\/p>\n

\u201cClermont are getting a special player, but we\u2019re grateful that we have another full season with him. AJ is locked in for 2026 and we know he\u2019ll give everything for the jersey.\u201d<\/p>\n
