For comparison\u2019s sake, 28 Years Later<\/a> was rated R for \u201cstrong bloody violence, grisly images, graphic nudity, language, and brief sexuality.\u201d<\/p>\n The fourth installment in the post-apocalyptic horror franchise opens in theaters on January 16\u00a0via Sony.<\/p>\n Nia DaCosta<\/a> (Candyman 2021, The Marvels) directs from a script by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, 28 Years Later).<\/p>\n In the continuation of the epic story, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival \u2014 the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.<\/p>\n Dr. Kelson finds himself in a shocking new relationship \u2014 with consequences that could change the world as they know it \u2014 and Spike\u2019s encounter with Jimmy Crystal becomes a nightmare he can\u2019t escape.<\/p>\n Ralph Fiennes, Jack O\u2019Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, and Chi Lewis-Parry star, with Cillian Murphy reprising his 28 Days Later role<\/a>.<\/p>\n Danny Boyle produces alongside Garland, Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, and Bernard Bellew.
