The Memphis Alcohol Commission on Wednesday, Jan. 7, approved a liquor license for The Station, the East Memphis liquor store that\u2019s been fighting to open for more than a year.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The board, which only had six members in attendance, voted 5-1 in favor, deciding that the store, based on a survey submitted by a local engineering firm, met the requirement to be at least 1,500 feet from a school or church.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThankful,\u201d said Station owner Ethan Edwards after the meeting when asked his response.<\/p>\n
