{"id":398990,"date":"2026-01-08T04:34:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T04:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/398990\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T04:34:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T04:34:10","slug":"f1-newbies-cadillac-have-no-illusions-of-task-ahead-but-everyones-up-for-the-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/398990\/","title":{"rendered":"F1 newbies Cadillac have no illusions of task ahead, but \u2018everyone\u2019s up for the challenge\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">When Cadillac\u2019s cars line up for the start of the Australian Grand Prix, Graeme Lowdon will finally allow himself a moment to reflect on how far the Formula One team have come.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Melbourne in March will mark the end of a three-year journey just to get on the grid, and the start of the American outfit\u2019s bid to impose themselves on the sport as the 11th team in the paddock.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">With the first private testing taking place in Barcelona at the end of January, and everything \u201cabsolutely flat out\u201d in the weeks and months before and after, the 60-year-old does not expect to have time to stop and think until he gets to the Albert Park Circuit.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">When he does, Cadillac\u2019s team principal plans to share his thoughts with drivers Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez, Zhou Guanyu, Colton Herta and the rest of the garage to give \u201cperspective to everyone involved\u201d, while emphasising the fact the objective was not \u201csimply to establish a team, it\u2019s to go forward\u201d.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cI\u2019ve actually written a note to myself to do that [reflect] because I\u2019ve not done it in the past and subsequently regretted it,\u201d Lowdon told the Post. \u201cI think it is important to be able to share those thoughts with the wider team as well, to reinforce it with everybody just what\u2019s being achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas (left) and Mexican Sergio Perez will lead the Cadillac challenge.
