SANDOWN 500 winner Scott Pye<\/a>\u2019s 2026 has got off to a rough start with an unusual injury.<\/p>\n

The man who has re-signed to be Will Brown<\/a>\u2019s Triple Eight co-driver for another two years yesterday posted a video to Instagram in the wake of undergoing surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt turns out there wasn\u2019t enough bone overlap, it was too displaced, so the bone was never going to heal in my toe,\u201d explained Pye, who turns 36 today.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is as dumb as it sounds: I stubbed my toe playing nerf wars with my nephew\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyway, crutches for a little while and hopefully I\u2019ll be back at Sydney for the ride day.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the written component of the post, Pye noted \u201cI\u2019ve now broke all bar four toes\u201d.<\/p>\n

With Triple Eight joining the Blue Oval, The Bend 500 in September will mark Pye\u2019s first Supercars race for Ford since his DJR Team Penske tenure came to a close at the end of 2016.<\/p>\n

Five of Triple Eight\u2019s six-strong enduro roster has been formalised.
